We are friends of Scotty Yoos (that's yöse, like Yosemite.) This weblog has been created to support Scott in his defense against charges brought by the state. On this blog will be information about the court case, updates, links to articles, and how you can donate and otherwise support Scott.

Yoos, wearing an orange reflective vest and bicycling home late on the evening of June 1, 2011 -- after his volunteer shift at the Capitol Theater -- was stopped by an officer of the Olympia Police Department as he was throwing paper towels into a city-owned dumpster adjacent to Twisters Donuts, 2302 Fourth Ave. He was originally cited for criminal trespass and obstructing justice, but one of the officers called to the scene filed a report 3-1/2 weeks after the incident alleging that Yoos had kicked him. This would constitute a felony, and the case, formerly being heard in the Olympia City Municipal Court, was bumped up to the Thurston County Superior Court.
